This past Summer, while traveling through "cottage country" outside Toronto, Canada with my husband, I was fascinated with the rural landscape and the rustic farmhouses and barns. Yesterday, as I was reading my current edition of Elle Decor Magazine (December issue), I realized I'm not the only one that has a love (might be a slight obsession) for the raw, weathered and natural. Elle Decor calls these "cozy chic cabins." We are currently in the middle of renovating what I call our "chic shack" on the lake and reading this article has filled me with inspiration (especially all the exposed beam ceilings) and visions of spending next Summer in our cozy little shack.
