Hotel Centennial................

If you haven't been to the Centennial since its recent incarnation you will be in for a very pleasant surprise.  The new owner is Anthony Medich of Halcyon Hotels with Justin North (formerly of Becasse) as executive chef.  The interior was designed by Rachel Luchetti and Stuart Krelle and is filled with lots of nooks and great spaces to have an intimate drink and bite to eat or sit at the bar backroom "high table" if you have a large group of family and friends and share platters of food.

My favourite part is the artwork - as Medich is an avid collector of contemporary photography.  There are great photos by Bill Henson and Tracey Moffatt and one that I particularly like, of a very young Miranda Kerr, by Herb Ritts.  Medich says that the photography "....creates talking points" - and they do!

John Rocha.....................

This is Hong Kong born, Ireland based, fashion designer, John Rocha's get away house in Provence - where I predict he will be spending more time as he has confirmed his retirement from fashion to Vogue UK just recently.  And although he latest collections have been some of his best work, he is more than happy to have his daughter, Simone, carry on with the Rocha name in fashion.  Simone was voted womenswear designer of the year at the 2013 British Fashion Awards.

Weekend hair, summer hair, beach hair, bed hair or whatever you want to call it - simple, messy, uncomplicated, fun and sexy.  Pull it back, braid it, pin it and mess it up.  Add great lipstick and sunglasses and you are ready to go.

Malene Birger............

I have always loved fashion designer Malene Birger's interior style and have featured former homes owned by her, but this is Malene's new London abode featured in Belle Magazine and I thought it was worthy of posting.  Although Malene's aesthetics for her London house are similar to her previous dwellings, she has said, "Here in London I have focused  on a mix of my studio and private space.  I have more of my own art on the walls, and have added more modern lamps and furniture than previously.  I kept lots of objects and furniture, but style them differently and put them together with new "friends."  The style is a little bit sharper."
