Benoist Drut.........

Benoist Drut of Maison Gerard, the "high-style antiques and home furnishings gallery" in Greenwich Village fell in love with a parcel of land two hours from the City and built a weekend house there.  I particularly like the kitchen in his home.   This is exactly how I pictured the kitchen in our "shack" on the lake in Canada should look like, when we get around to renovating it.  I also love the fact that Benoist has artwork in his closet - fabulous!

Olivia Palermo..............

One of NYC's "It Girls," Olivia Palermo tied the knot with Johannes Huebl on 28 June in a civil ceremony in Bedford, New York.  Olivia wore three pieces by Carolina Herrera - a cream, cashmere sweater, white shorts and a full tulle, silk and satin skirt with floral details at the hem.  She also wore deep blue Manolo Blahnik shoes to complete the bridal ensemble.

Seems Olivia has taken some cues from one of my favourite movies - Sex and the City - as the blue MB's are exactly like the ones Carrie wore when she married Big in a civil ceremony in a NYC ......

Swimsuits............

Hermes sent me their latest swimsuit campaign - however they call it their "Bath Collection" and while it is not officially swimsuit weather here in Sydney it gives me enough reason to start getting myself fit in time for Summer.  I love the Hermes photo shoot (it's actually a video) and looks like it took place here in Australia.  Go to Hermes official website to view the entire video.

The swimsuit that has caught my interest for a while now and is my favourite, is the beige/nude one from the French label Eres.  It looks like a cross between great lingerie and a swimsuit.

Elsa Schiaparelli................

"Madder and more original that most of her contemporaries, Mme Schiaparelli is the one to whom the word genius is applied most often," - Time Magazine
wrote in 1934.  Chanel dismissed her greatest rival as "that Italian artist who makes clothes."  Elsa's peak creative period was the 1930's .

In Marco Zanini's first show for the house of Schiaparelli, you can see that he researched Elsa's witty legacy for his first collection
