Peter Marino's Hamptons Garden............

Yes, the very same Peter Marino, clad in black leather biker gear with a mohawk hair cut and many body piercings, this is his garden hidden away in the Hamptons.  Who would have thought the menacing biker image would create such a soft, romantic and beautiful asthetic for himself?  He does add, however, "If a hedge has a leaf out of place, the veins on my neck swell." - ok gardners, you have been warned..........

On the Market - Ibiza................

I love reading Architectural Digest's 'On The Market' column - not that I am in the market for a multi-million dollar home anytime soon.  This 17th century estate on Ibiza is listed at just shy of $8 million.  The estate was recently renovated by Parisian designer Charles Tassin, "who used a restrainted colour palette to highlight existing structural elements such as the antique ceiling beams and the stucco walls."

I would, howewer, use the change leftover from the $8 million to refurbish the green covers on all the outdoor seating!

Lá Fhéile Pádraig - the Day of the Festival of Patrick
Happy St. Patrick's Day..............

Above is a picture of the Wicklow Mountains, near Dublin and it is where I stayed on my first (and so far only) trip to Ireland.  I remember taking an early morning walk, with fog and mist still hovering, down to the little village to take the bus to Dublin.  I closed my eyes and the smell of green was so vibrant and beautiful - like the smell of fresh cut grass a thousandfold.   It is something I will never forget.

To all my friends and readers, those of you who are Irish and those of you who wish you were, I wish you a very happy St. Patrick's Day.

"Love is never defeated, and I could add; the history of Ireland proves it."
- Pope John Paul II
