Iris Apfel.......................

I've had a half written blog on Iris for over a month and thought now was a good time to publish as I understand the screening of "Iris" has just been released at the NY International Film Festival.

Iris is an American businesswoman, interior designer and fashion icon.  She worked for WW Daily and later an interior designer in NYC.  When she married her husband, Carl, they launched a textile firm and ran it together until 1992.  Most recently, you would have seen Iris in the documentary film on Bill Cunningham (NYC street/social photographer).  Iris has been listed as one of the fifty best-dressed over 50 and is known for her flamboyant, colourful and multi-layered style.  As you can see, her NYC apartment is decorated much like Iris dresses.
