"Books are a uniquely portable magic." - Stephen King

Here are two new books to add to your reading list, both memoirs.  Watch Me: A Memoir by Angelica Huston is the second volume of her memoirs which tells about her 17 year relationship with Jack Nicholson and its end, her stardom, relationships with famous directors and the death of her legendary father, director John Huston.

Angelica shares the details of the end of her relationship with Jack when she learned about his relationship with Rebecca Broussard and Broussard's pregnancy.  Angelica writes, "I beat him savagely about the head and shoulders.  He was ducking and bending, and I was going at him like a prize fighter, raining a vast array of direct punches."

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow: My Life by Sophia Loren is her first published memoir about her childhood in war-torn Naples, her career in Hollywood, Paris and Italy and her relationships with the leading men of the time in the golden age of glamour.   The book also finally answers the question of what Sophia was thinking, when the infamous photo of her looking sideways at Jayne Mansfield in 1957, was taken.

Over the years, publishers have asked Sophia to tell her story and she has refused.  She said she felt it was the right time to "delve into my memories and go back in time."  Particularly, because of a box she discovered with long forgotten photos, tickets and letters.
