If you haven't been to the Centennial since its recent incarnation you will be in for a very pleasant surprise. The new owner is Anthony Medich of Halcyon Hotels with Justin North (formerly of Becasse) as executive chef. The interior was designed by Rachel Luchetti and Stuart Krelle and is filled with lots of nooks and great spaces to have an intimate drink and bite to eat or sit at the bar backroom "high table" if you have a large group of family and friends and share platters of food.
My favourite part is the artwork - as Medich is an avid collector of contemporary photography. There are great photos by Bill Henson and Tracey Moffatt and one that I particularly like, of a very young Miranda Kerr, by Herb Ritts. Medich says that the photography "....creates talking points" - and they do!
