Holiday home on the island of Ile de Re...........................

Laurence Simoncini (pictured) is the co-founder of the children's Parisian boutique Serendipity.  Together with her husband, Marc, they bought a plot of land on the island of Ile de Re off the west coast of France and built their holiday house in 2007.  The house is designed by architect Andre Blanchet. 

The blackened pine-clad house contains textured concrete walls, truss beamed ceilings and reclaimed oak flooring.  Laurence says, "nature inspired the decor of the house.  I chose raw, honest materials for the furniture, most of which was uneartheed on the island and has a history."
