The holiday season is fast upon us and we will be gathering our family and friends in our homes to celebrate our annual traditions.
For me, setting the table is my favourite part of the celebrations. Simple or elaborate, it is a labour of love. Flowers or other natural elements such as twigs, pods, berries, seasonal produce, herbs from my garden, stones, seashells and candles, always grace my tables - inside and out. I prefer to use mix of different dinnerware that I have accumulated over the years, natural white linens, vintage French wine buckets for vases and great, big steel buckets with wood handles from India for piling in bottles of wine, champagne and beer on ice.
I try to keep these words in mind when I decorate and entertain - abundance, bountiful, fragrant, simple, fresh, natural and from the heart.
