"The scarf is the new necklace......"

Declares US Vogue in their September big fashion (or should I say, big advertisement) issue.  The Fall runways were filled with this "new" fresh accessory.  From Prada and Louis Vuitton's new slinky scarfs to Hermes' neckerchief, the scarf is the "it" accessory this season.

Want to know more ways to wear the new "it" accessory?  Download the Hermes Silk Knots app from Itunes, its free and gives you lots of creative ways to tie/knot the scarf.

Internet failure............

Technology, a wonderful thing, but when it fails, it fails big time.  This past week I've had a "failure" on my phone line which not only shut down my telephone but also my internet connection - I was nearly ropeable, even for someone who admittedly isn't constantly attached to internet services such as facebook, twitter and instagram..........

However, I am glad to say I'm back and excited about a few new things.  Namely, The Scene from Vogue which interviews celebrities and asks them 73 questions.  There first interview, and one of my absolute favourites, is with Sarah Jessica Parker.  It is very casual and takes place in her NYC home.

Weekend inspiration.............

I am looking forward to the weekend, as it is Friday here in Sydney and I had to get up early (3:00am) to go to the flower market for some beautiful blooms to make a couple of special bouquets today.  It is suppose to be rainy and cold here - perfect for what I have in mind.  Fireplace, piles of magazines (the big fashion September issues are out), old movies and good comfort food - ok maybe a bit of wine too.

Enjoy your weekend!

Mind the Gap.....................

Gap-teeth are very much in Vogue, literally.  The photos below of beautiful women are redefining our thoughts that beauty equals perfection.  Clearly the "imperfection" does not detract from their beauty and quite possibly enhances it.   Somthing to think about the next time we are being overly critical when looking in the mirror.

Marella Agnelli: The Last Swan...........

Truman Capote called them his "Swans" - the New York style icons and legendary beauties, Babe Paley, Slim Keith, Lee Radziwell, C.Z. Guest, Gloria Guinness and Marella Agnelli (European "Swan").  They were adored by Capote for their grace, wealth and social connections.  They graced covers of magazines and were always on the "International Best-Dressed List."  Truman was their confidante, but he would ultimately betray them by writing a tell all book.

This is Marella Agnelli's home in the Northern Italian city of Turin as featured in this month's Architectural Digest.  It has been in her late husband Gianni Agnelli's family since the early 19th century.  In 1899 the Agnelli family launched Fabbrica Italiana di Automobili Torino or Fiat, Italy's largest automotive company, where Gianni made his fortune and served as Chairman for 30 years.

Marella helped to redesign and decorate the interior, after it was bombed in WWII, became an avid gardener and designed an award-winning textile collection in the 1970's.  Her memoir, Marella Agnelli: The Last Swan, is due for release in October.  In it she writes about her shattered relationship with Truman and his betrayal.
